Jamestown Community College will offer a three-part series exploring the rich history of Chautauqua Lake and Chautauqua Institution. The series which begins on October 12th will be conducted by Jonathan Schmitz, Chautauqua Institution archivist. Themes for the three programs are:
- October 12–examination of the Chautauqua Movement through the “camp meeting”, the American Lyceum, and the American Sunday School movement
- October 26–science and religion at Chautauqua Institution
- November 9–the importance of Chautauqua Lake to the area’s history
